Hey, there! I’m Wanéa (Wuh/nay/yuh), your official tour guide of the Unbecoming blog. Here’s what you need to know about me:
I’m a small girl from Maryland who’s always had pretty big thoughts. When I’m not off daydreaming, you can probably find me strumming new chords on my guitar, crying at the latest Disney movie, or pouring my heart out and into my journals.
Writing is a fundamental part of who I am. I can’t remember a time where a pencil wasn’t in my hand, and that’s just the way I like it. I love drawing, singing Whitney Houston songs, and watching movies/shows that’ll change my life, or at least the way I look at it. I’m terrified of spiders, I can eat Chinese takeout every day, and after many years of debating, I have accepted pink as my all-time favorite color (because why not?).
I’m currently an English major at an HBCU. I’m not sure what career I’ll pursue, but right now I’m enjoying the ride. I’m a proud second generation Caribbean-American and the baby of the family (if you couldn’t already tell), and live with my mom, dad and
sometimes insufferable sister, Lily.
Unbecoming is the brain-child of my many thoughts, opinions, and creative ideas as a young girl growing up in a big world. Join me as I share original short stories, artwork, inspirational thoughts, social commentary, and rants on TV’s latest. Laugh with me, cry with me, and together, we’ll find all the unbecoming ways of becoming ‘BIG’.
